Yin + Yoga Nidra Workshop

Join Emily in a deep, meditative two hour practice consisting of breathwork, yin yoga and yoga nidra. We begin by increasing and deepening breath awareness to prepare us for the yin practice. Our yin postures will be specifically sequenced to promote deep release, relaxation and mindfulness. In yin yoga the postures are held longer to promote internal release in connective tissues, fascia, tendons and ligaments. Following this practice will be a 25 minute yoga nidra (aka “yogic sleep”) to increase the effectiveness of the yin practice and promote deeper relaxation.

All levels, all bodies, all everything welcome.

Prenatal Partner Workshop

Help mom decrease stress, tension and discomfort during pregnancy! In this 2-hour workshop, we will not only help mom relax and unwind but also provide an opportunity for a partner, friend or relative to bond more with mom and baby. Join Emily in this FUN, interactive and informative gathering.

This workshop allows mom to learn helpful techniques for labor and pregnancy as well as help prepare her partner to support her throughout the pregnancy. Topics include: breathing techniques, meditation, mindfulness, physical postures, massage and more.

At the heart of yoga are the practices that lead us into deeper communion with our true self, the Divine spark within. While the pace of daily life continues to increase, we may find ourselves spending less time nourishing our spirits. Devotional practices of the heart, community with like minded spiritual seekers, time in nature, and time for silence are key to communion with our Divine nature. Yoga practices that stretch and renew the body combine with time honored spiritual practices from yoga’s oldest wisdom texts to open our hearts to bliss within! Yogic wisdom texts such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and the Upanishads hold gems that ignite insights into our own personal journey. Serious spiritual aspirants know that study of wisdom texts is foundational to a deep spiritual journey.

Together with our study of yoga philosophy integrated with physical practices to lighten the body, breath practices to elevate prana and meditative practices to soothe the mind, we will begin to move deeply within to the Divine nature of our own heart.

Restore More: an extended practice

Soothe the soul, mind and body in this special offering of a 2 ­hour gentle and Restorative practice with Emily. Meditation, pranayama and asana will be used to aid in relaxation. We will promote deep relaxation by supporting the body using props and hold the supportive and relaxing postures for longer amounts of time. We will complete our time together in a 15­minute guided meditation and a long, sweet savasana followed by water, tea and light refreshments.
All levels welcome.

Join Diane Duane (E-RYT 200, MATS) and Emily Walkup (RYT, B.A.) for:
-an overview of the origins and history of yoga
-two dynamic practice sessions with modifications
-conversation and Q & A about yoga as a lifestyle including explanation of the 8 limbs of yoga with a focus on the yamas and niyamas
-lunch included in cost

This workshop is appropriate for all levels. Those new to yoga will get a thorough introduction and have the opportunity to share their questions and concerns about integrating yoga into everyday life. If you have been practicing a while this day will be an opportunity to renew and expand your knowledge of yoga. For Yoga Alliance certified teachers this workshop counts toward hands-on continuing education. (4 hours) This is a unique format where you can add your voice to the voices of the facilitators.

This will be 75 minute Restorative practice followed by refreshments from Arden's Garden. After the class, all participants are invited to an optional discussion regarding positive body image and yoga, and excerpts from the book “Yoga and Body Image: 25 Personal Stories About Beauty, Bravery & Loving Your Body” will be read.

Steady Flow and Restore

Join Emily as she guides you in a 2-hour journey into self-care. We begin with a steady 30-minute vinyasa flow practice to build warmth and increase circulation in the body. This will include longer holds and lots of individual attention and optional hands-on adjustments. Following the vinyasa practice, there will be a soothing and soul-enhancing 75-minute candlelit Restorative Yoga practice. We will complete our time together in a 15-minute guided meditation and a long, sweet savasana.
